Accessibility

Designed to be usable by everyone.

Monarch is committed to an inclusive digital experience. This page describes what we have done, what we are still working on, and how to tell us when we fall short.

Our commitment

We believe our website and the work we produce should be usable by people of all abilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing practice rather than a one-time project.

What we have done

Measures currently in place on monarchgroupatl.com include:

  • Semantic structure. Pages use proper HTML landmarks (nav, header, section, footer) and a single logical heading order so assistive technologies can navigate the page.
  • Keyboard operability. All interactive elements — navigation, buttons, forms, and links — are reachable and operable with a keyboard. Focus states are visible.
  • Reduced-motion support. We honor the operating system prefers-reduced-motion setting. Scroll reveals and other animations are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion.
  • Color contrast. Body text and interactive controls are styled to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
  • Descriptive alternatives. Meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Purely decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
  • Responsive design. Layout and type scale cleanly from small phones to wide desktops so that zooming and reflow work as expected.
  • Plain language. We write in clear, direct English and avoid unnecessary jargon across the site.

Standards we reference

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines from the W3C.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — applied to our federal-contracting deliverables.
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — in spirit and intent across our public materials.

Known limitations

We are transparent about gaps that remain:

  • Our homepage features background video. A still poster image is shown when video cannot play, and the video is purely decorative — no information is conveyed only through it.
  • Our downloadable capability statement is distributed as a PDF. Structural tagging in PDFs can vary; we will provide the document in an alternate accessible format on request.
  • Embedded third-party content (if any) may not meet the same standards as the pages that contain it.

Feedback and assistance

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site — or need any of our materials in an alternate format — please tell us. We take this feedback seriously and aim to respond within five business days.

When reporting an issue, it helps to include the page URL, a short description of the problem, and the device or assistive technology you were using.

Ongoing work

We review our site against these standards periodically and update it as content changes. This page will evolve alongside that work.
